Ready to follow a sign, if there only was a sign.
I know this feeling well... (minus the 'husband, dad' part).
That's why I create "testosterone rooms" in every house I design.
Man Cave. Go. Beat your chest.
It always seems that when I need or want this sort of time the most is when I am least able to get it. EVERYONE else wants MORE! UGH!Beck, I'm curious, what sort of designer are you?
i find it very hard to have this time at home; i work long hours and once home, my family pretty much expects me to be available (fix the printer, find the key, replace this or that, and of course "talk to me"); about my only time alone is my bus commute, which is probably enough. this all sounds pretty egocentric, and i'm sure my family thinks they are leaving me with plenty of alone time.
Build yourself a livable shed in your back yard:) growing up, it was my place of escape.
